Awakened Action Dinner

Pena PachamamaAn evening of inspiration and delight.  Come to Pena Pachamama in San Francisco’s North Beach for great music, delicious food, fellowship, and more.  This is Green Sangha’s 7th fund-raising dinner, supporting mindfulness and compassion in environmental action.

The event opens with a reception and no-host bar, featuring all-organic fruit juices such as limeade and horchata, prepared on-site by the house chef.  Buffet dinner follows, with music by the Andean band, Sukay.  Pena Pachamama specializes in earth-friendly, organic, vegan cuisine, drawing their recipes from the Andes and beyond.  A short program follows, with Juan-Carlos Solis as Master of Ceremonies:  slide show of Green Sangha activities and accomplishments, testimonial speeches, and a brief meditation led by Maeve Murphy.  A silent auction takes place throughout the evening.  We close with three simple traditional dances led by Green Sangha program director Stuart Moody and accompanied by Sukay.  Reserve your space today.

Green Sangha holds monthly retreats, performs seasonal habitat restoration, leads an annual beach clean-up, engages in climate rallies, and advocates for plastics reduction and zero waste.  We have offered training to over 500 environmental leaders, youth, and civic officials — teaching skills of mindful communication, effective meetings, and sustainability from within.  In 2016 our focus is Mindful Leadership training for these groups, including teens in detention.  Our mission is to restore our sense of oneness, healing the Earth and our communities through mindful practice and awakened action.  THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

Awakened Action Tea

Come to the Awakened Action Tea on Sunday, July 1, 2012 at the Mill Valley Community Center!  Our featured speaker is Beth Terry, author of Plastic Free, How I Kicked the Plastic Habit and How You Can Too.

Beth will tell us about her personal journey to near-zero plastic consumption, why this effort is vital for the planet’s life-support systems, and how you can easily adopt a lower-plastic lifestyle.  The program also includes a meditation and short talk by Green Sangha’s founder Jonathan Gustin.  Tasty organic, vegetarian snacks and beverages will be served.
