Plastic Is Getting Drastic
Captain Charles Moore put the Pacific Gyre on the map with his first report, over ten years ago, of the accumulation of plastic particles of all sizes in the ocean. He and his colleagues in the Algalita Marine Foundation tallied and weighed samples of surface trawls of the Pacific Gyre, finding 6 pounds of plastic for every pound of zooplankton.
