Day of observance

September 11, 2016 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Buckeye in lightEast Bay retreat. The 15th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks stirs us to wonder anew: what can we do to protect our communities, the planet, and future generations from the scourge of violence against people and their lands?  In Green Sangha, we start by strengthening our inner foundations of peace, and resolving to learn, practice, and promote mindfulness and compassion in action.  This work starts at home, at work, in our social circles, and extends into civic discourse and the policy decisions that we make. For one view of how powerful loving action can be to counter the forces of violence, see this 5-minute video by the Metta Center for Nonviolence:  Terrorism & Nonviolence.

In the meanwhile, join us this evening for meditation, fellowship, and reflection at an Oakland member’s home near the redwoods. RSVP to circlesofpeace.1@gmail.com for address and directions.

Love donations requested to support Green Sangha’s programs of mindful activism. Earth-friendly potluck offerings are welcome!
