Marin retreat in January

Gandhi puppetWelcome the New Year with yoga, meditation, thoughtful conversation, and action planning for mother Earth.

We’ll be sharing upcoming events and actions.  January is Nonviolence Month, and we will honor social justice leaders such as Kasturbai and Mahatma Gandhi, Coretta and Martin Luther King, Jr., Eleanor and Franklin Roosevelt, and Henry Thoreau.
Special guests:
  • Jes Richardson, honoree of the Marin County Human Rights Commission (January 22 at 5:30 pm, Embassy Suites in San Rafael).  Jes is known in Marin for his large Gandhi puppet that has been present at many parades and festivals.  Jes traveled to Iran as an Ambassador of Friendship during tense negotiations over nuclear policies.
  • Marie Ingerman, long-time Quaker, will share facts and insights from Naomi Klein’s book, This Changes Everything.
Edgehill Mansion - winterPlease bring light potluck refreshments (earth-friendly foods, of course).  The Siena Room in Edgehill Mansion is warm and comfortable, situated on the beautiful green campus of Dominican University in San Rafael.
